I like to look at my world from a different perspective at times. Upside down or from way up high is a nice change of pace.
My name is Melissa. I’m a Nutrition Therapist, have a degree in Exercise Science, am a Registered Yoga Instructor (I don’t currently teach classes), and have a personal interest and expertise in celiac disease, gluten sensitivity, and holistic health. I’m on a mission to increase awareness of celiac disease and help people navigate the gluten-free lifestyle with confidence, strength, optimal nutrition, and renewed vitality. I know how difficult that can be because I have celiac disease and so does my daughter, but with the right lifestyle changes, optimal health is not only achievable, it can be fun and taste good too!
Hiking, backpacking, telemark skiing, and yoga are also high on my passion list and part of what I consider my “freedom from disease” way of living. I take my wholesome gluten-free lifestyle on the road, on the trail, or into the mountains and I’ve found there’s no reason you can’t live an active (even rather extreme) lifestyle once you learn the necessary steps to clean out your body, start yourself on a healing path, and reclaim your life.
No wheat? No worries!
Please contact me at melissa@glutenfreeforgood.com if you’d like more information about celiac disease, nutrition therapy, and alternative methods to help you feel and look your best. I offer private consultations and public presentations.
This is my sidekick, Fairbanks. When he was diagnosed with thyroid disease and IBS, I decided he probably “caught” celiac disease from hanging around with me, so now he’s on a grain-free diet and gets a good dose of cod liver oil each day. He’s on his way to better health too! Fairbanks was graphic artist Mike’s inspiration for creating that cute and cuddly mountain yak (the celi-yak) for my logo.
