More About Melissa

drummers

I’m going to do something totally against my character and keep my verbiage at a minimum today. No sighs of relief, please. I can hear them through my cable connection.

This is well worth watching and it’s only about 5 minutes long. We’re building friendships and communicating with each other from all over the world — here’s some music to go with it.

Turn up your speakers and enjoy. This is well worth your time. In fact, it will give you chills and make your day. Click below, sit back and celebrate life.

Stand By Me . . .

    *yay!*
This is lovely, Melissa! And isn’t this exactly what us food bloggers do every day?

We are all eating and drinking and blogging, but we’re approaching the music in a different way — and adding to the song, one by one, flavor by flavor.

Important to remember that none of us sings alone.

  2. Thanks for this, Melissa! A friend had sent it to me a while back, but it was terrific watching it again. I believe shared music and food can heal the world. 🙂

Hi Melissa! This song has a really nice sentiment. It’s so true, that none of us can make it through this life alone.

Thanks for dropping by my blog and have a good weekend! ; )

    Lo,

What a wonderful way to combine friendship, food and blogging! I love your comment about adding “one by one, flavor by flavor” — beautiful! What a perfect recipe for joy!

    Shirley,

I had never seen this before and it just made my day. I was bouncing around singing to myself all day! I agree, there’s nothing like sharing music and food with friends.

Like Lo said, flavor by flavor.

    🙂

    Anali,

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your comment. Yes, that song rings true, doesn’t it? We all need a “little help from our friends” from time to time.

OK, not surprisingly, I had tears in my eyes before the first man sang a note.
    Thanks for the inspiration.

    Megan,

Yeah — I know. Me too. It’s very moving, isn’t it?!

    Melissa,

I’m with Megan on this…. especially as I’d only just glimpsed Miles’ post about Grandpa. Sometimes it’s good to remind ourselves how we feel.

A splendid musical interlude which I think most people would appreciate.

    Cid,

And I’m with both of you on this — or, all of you! It’s nice that something like this rings true for all. It’s a lovely tribute to people “standing by each other.” I’ve listened to it several times now. It almost moves me to tears each time, but in a joyous way.

    🙂

    Melissa,
I enjoyed that, thank you. It reminded me of people who have stated that they did not need anyone. Little recognition then that they already had and certainly will again. It struck me as quite sad every time I heard it.
We all need reminders from time to time….

  12. Melissa says:

    Elsie (Anne),

I agree on each point you made. It is sad when people put up shields and don’t admit or embrace the fact that we all need a little comfort and help from time to time. This video was a lovely reminder of that.
